Honor is blaming “components and software restrictions” for Oreo’s no-present.
The Honor 8 was a definitely wonderful mid-range handset when it launched in August of 2016, and following the update to Android Nougat in February of final year, it was designed even greater. We have been crossing our fingers for Oreo to come to the mobile phone in the in close proximity to long term, but individuals desires have now been crushed.
Honor’s Twitter account in India lately replied to a user inquiring about Oreo for the Honor 8, and this was the reaction:
we can understand your issue. On the other hand, we regret to tell you that Honor 8 is not compatible for Android Oreo update owing to components and software restrictions. We usually function for our consumers and we are seriously glad to have you as an Honor purchaser. Inconvenience is regretted.

Honor web-sites that “components and software restrictions” are preventing Oreo from arriving on the Honor 8, but that isn’t going to seem to be like a legitimate argument in my book. The Honor 8 is run by a more than able Kirin 950 processor and 4GB of RAM, so I’d be interested in receiving more details about what kind of “restrictions” the corporation is confronted with.
It is described in one more tweet that the Honor 8 will proceed to obtain stability patches “when essential”, but even so, I really don’t consider lots of folks will be satisfied with this news.
